ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors examined the changing nature of death, dying and mourning due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India especially with respect to the religion-specific death rituals, 'dignity in death' and the stigma attached with the COVID dead bodies. For the same, the authors rapidly reviewed existing literature on the topic and mapped newspaper articles on the theme. Also, two cases have been used as the primary source of data in the study. Lastly, the chapter discusses the implications of this knowledge on therapeutic practice and research. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
